Different smartphone manufacturers are launching their smartphones having rear cameras of 100 or more mega-pixels (MP) for a while now. But the selfie game is still limited to 44MP and that is about to change as famous leakster “Digital Chat Station” has shared this information that a phone with a 100MP selfie camera is in the making. Sadly, there’s no information about the company which is about to upgrade the front facing camera to a new level.
This is an exciting leak but there are a few things which are still hidden on how a 100MP+ selfie camera will be implanted in a smartphone as 108MP rear camera sensors are quite big right now and they take a lot of space on the back of the phone. If those same sensors get on the front of a smartphone, they will take a lot of space which may result in a huge notch or bigger punch hole.
This big notch or punch hole can be avoided to make things better by having a pop-up selfie camera or a pop-up flipping camera module to accommodate bigger sensors. We look forward to have the first phone with a 100MP+ front camera soon and we are pretty sure that more manufacturers will also unveil their 100MP+ selfie camera handsets, once the first device launches.
