Huawei Nova 8 Series launched with Kirin 985 SoC and 64MP quad cameras

Huawei recently announced the Huawei Nova 8 SE with two different chipsets and today the company has announced the other two main variants of Huawei Nova 8 Series, the Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro. Both of the smartphones are launched with 66W fast charging support, Kirin 985 chipset and 64 MP quad cameras along with other exciting features.

The Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro are equipped with 6.57 inches and 6.72 inches OLED panels, respectively. The Nova 8 supports 1080 x 2340 pixel FHD+ resolution with up to 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. On the other hand, the Nova 8 Pro comes with 1236 x 2676 FHD+ resolution with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. Both phones offer in-screen fingerprint scanners. On the front, the Nova 8 has a single punch hole whereas Nova 8 Pro has a pill shaped cutout for dual selfie cameras. Both of the displays have curved edges.

The Huawei Nova 8 series ship with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of internal storages. These phones are launched with EMUI 11 based Android 10 OS and there is no support for external storage. Both of the smartphones are powered by Kirin 985 chipset.

The uniquely designed rear camera setup of the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro has a 64 MP main camera which has f/1.9 aperture on base and f/1.8 aperture on Pro variant), an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 2 MP macro and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front side, the Nova 8 has 32 MP selfie camera whereas the Pro models comes with dual camera setup with 32 MP main and 16 MP Ultrawide lens.

The Huawei Nova 8 has a 3,800 mAh battery, whereas the Pro model gets a bigger 4,000mAh battery. Both phones support 66W SuperCharge fast charging technology by Huawei. It takes around 35 minutes to fully charge the devices. The Nova 8 supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS, while the Nova 8 Pro comes with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-frequency GPS support. Both phones carry support for dual SIM, 5G, NFC and USB-C.

The Nova 8 and 8 Pro smartphones come in four colors; black, purple, green, and gradient white. Both phones are now up for pre-orders in China and the sale will commence from Dec. 30.
