Xiaomi has finally announced the Redmi K40 series in China, having three smartphones under the series banner. The base variant Redmi K40 with Snapdragon 870 SoC and two upper tier variant K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ both of which are powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset. The chipset is one of the major difference between the base and Pro variants of Redmi K40 Series. Xiaomi may also rebrand these phones to launch them in different markets and regions. Recent reports suggest that Redmi K40 is going to get launched globally as POCO F2.
Let’s have a look at the specs of all the three smartphones.
All of the three smartphones offer a super AMOLED 6.67″ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphones come with 1080p resolution, HDR10+ and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. All phones of K40 series offer a 4520mAh battery which support 33W fast charging which can fully charge a phone in just 52 minutes and is as fast as a 65W charging support according to testing done by Xiaomi.
As mentioned above, the first major difference is the chipset. The other major department where you will find all the phones different is the primary camera and Redmi K40 Pro+ is the one which outshines other variants here. It comes with an 108MP camera with Samsung’s HM2 sensor. The middle Pro variant of the series offers a 64MP main camera whereas the vanilla variant comes with a 48MP camera. The rest of the camera modules are same, including the 8MP ultrawide cam, 5MP telephoto macro and a 5MP selfie shooter. All three phones are very similar and the differences comes down to the chipsets and cameras only.
All of the three variants are 7.8mm thick and weigh about 196 grams. The smartphones offer a 20MP selfie camera enclosed in a centered punch hole and side mounted finger print reader. The Redmi K40 Series is announced in three color variants; Black, White and Aurora. All of them are unvieled with following price tags:
