Xiaomi has revealed the all new Redmi Note 9 Series in China as it wasn’t available in the home country yet. The new Redmi Note 9 Series is totally different from previously launched Note 9 Series in different regions. The tech giant Xiaomi held an event yesterday and unveiled three smartphones under the series; Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
The Redmi note 9 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G (8 nm) chipset and comes in three memory options; 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB with UFS 2.2 which is twice as fast as UFS 2.1 as per the claim by the company. The smartphone offers a 6.67 inches 1080p+ resolutions and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with adaptive refresh rate with 6 different ranges starting from 30Hz to 120Hz. The screen has a little punch hole in the top center of the screen for its 16 MP selfie camera. The smartphone is 9 mm thick and weighs about 215 grams.
On the back, the phone has a circular camera module for the main camera built around the 1/1.52” ISOCELL HM2, Samsung’s third 108MP sensor. The Quad camera setup on the back also offers an 8 MP ultrawide lens along with a 2 MP macro and a 2 MP depth sensor. The smartphone is also equipped with a 4820mAh big battery that offers 33W fast charging and as advertised the phone can charged up to 100% from 0% in 58 minutes.
There are 11 antennas placed around the phone to ensure good reception of 5G signals, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone also offers NFC and IR blaster. There’s also a standard 3.5mm headphone jack along with stereo speakers. The Pro model of the series is priced at CNY 1,600 for 6/128 GB, CNY 1,800 for 8/128 GB option and CNY 2,000 for 8/256 GB variant. The rates are equal to:
- 6/128 GB: USD 243, PKR 38,999, INR 17,990
- 8/128 GB: USD 273, PKR 43,999, INR 20,490
- 8/256 GB: USD 303, PKR 48,999, INR 22,490
The above mentioned rates may include additional taxes when launch in other markets. There’s no information on the launch date of the latest Redmi Note 9 Series globally, these phones may also launch under different names in different markets.
Redmi Note 9 5G
Redmi Note 9 5G comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U chipset which is as competitive as Snapdragon’s 700 series chipsets. The phone also come in three variants; 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB with UFS 2.2. This model of the series has a 6.53 inches LCD display with 1080p+ resolution and a standard refresh rate. The phone comes in three color options; Gray, Green and Violet.
Redmi Note 9 5G offers a triple camera setup on the back in a round shaped camera island having a 48 MP primary sensor along with an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro lens. On the front, the phone offers a 13 MP selfie shooter in a punch hole found on the top left corner of the screen. The smartphone is powered by a slightly larger 5,000mAh battery offers a charging speed of 18W, the box includes a 22.5W charger as well. Redmi Note 9 4G
Redmi Note 9 4G comes in beautiful four colors; Gray, Green, Blue and Orange. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 662 chipset and offers four UFS 2.2 storage options; 4/128 GB, 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. The 4 GB RAM variant is of course the cheapest variant of the model. The phone comes with the same 6.53 inches LCD display as found on its 5G model but comes with a waterdrop notch for an 8 MP selfie camera on the front. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the back, the phone offers triple camera setup for a 48 MP primary camera, 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP depth sensor in a trendy rectangular camera module.
Redmi Note 9 4G has the largest battery of all the three models in the series. The battery capacity on the phone is 6000mAh and it supports 18W fast charging as well. Like the other two, this model also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers but there’s no NFC. Pricing is as follows:
