Xiaomi Mi 11 launched with Snapdragon 888 SoC

Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship device, the Xiaomi Mi 11, which is now the world’s first device with the latest Snapdragon 888 5nm chipset. A device which is packed with top tier display, premium speakers, superb cameras and so much more.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with Xiaomi’s best 6.81″ AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The smartphone has a punch hole in the top left corner for a 20 MP selfie camera. The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a four-curved design, curved display and curved back, to make it more comfortable when held. It is lighter and thinner than the Mi 10 with a weight of 196 grams and measures about 8.06mm in thickness. The display has a Goodix’s latest optical fingerprint scanner underneath and according to the manufacturer of the scanner, it even supports heart-rate monitoring but Xiaomi said nothing about such a feature in the launch event.

The latest flagship device comes in three storage options; 128GB / 8GB RAM, 256GB / 8GB RAM and 256GB / 12GB RAM with UFS 3.1 type storage. On the back, the phone has a round corner square shaped camera bump which houses a triple camera setup with 108 MP main camera, exactly the one we got on Mi 10 and is 1/1.33” in size, a 13 MP ultrawide lens and a basic 5 MP macro camera.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 55W wired fast charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse charging. There will be no charger inside the box but the company will give a 65W adapter for free, if you don’t already have any compatible charger.

Other major offerings of the phone are: Harman Kardon-tuned stereo speakers, improved Night Mode capabilities, dual 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. Pre-orders has already been started and the sale will begin from January 1, 2021. The Xiaomi Mi 11 will come in six different colors – Black, White, Blue, Khaki Vegan Leather, Purple Leather, and Special Edition with Lei Jun’s autograph.

As different smartphone companies are launching more than one variant of any smartphone these days such as Pro, Pro Plus or Ultra but Xiaomi has chosen to go with only one offering of the series at this particular time and have plans to launch Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro in February 2021.
